Eat! Festival Launch within Marco Pierre White Steakhouse
On Friday 13 July, the much anticipated launch of the Eat! Food Festival took place at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill with a menu that showcased the region’s finest food.
With over 100 guests in attendance, the sell out event within Hotel Indigo was open to those who simply enjoy fine food. With a menu that included Craster kippers, Northumbrian lamb and Admiral Collingwood cheese, foodies certainly weren’t left disappointed.
Guests were able to try out the hotel’s signature neighbourhood cocktail and bespoke Battle of the Beers’ winner Grainger Ale. They were also treated to live music from The Paul James Band and each guest received a copy of Marco’s latest cookbook, Marco Made Easy.
As a highlight of the region’s culinary calendar, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative’s annual Eat! Festival continues as the UK’s leading celebration of food culture. The two week event is full of adventures in food including the Artisan House Party and Trial Shift, where talented amateur cooks compete for the chance to become Head Chef for the day at a leading regional restaurant.
General manager of Hotel Indigo Newcastle, Adam Munday, commented: “Now in its sixth year, Eat! is the North-East food festival that gets everyone talking and we were delighted to be able to host the official launch event.”
The £20m upscale Hotel Indigo Newcastle and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse bar and grill opened its doors to the public on Friday 1 June 2012. The 148-bedroom boutique hotel on Fenkle Street also features an exclusive non-residents bar, The Grainger Lounge, providing a regionally-inspired menu.
