Marco Pierre White officially opens his Newcastle Steakhouse
On Thursday 19 July, the much anticipated launch of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill Newcastle took place, offering guests an ultra modern dining experience.
The sold out event hosted by Mr White, the godfather of modern cookery, saw guests enjoy a champagne reception followed by a delicious three course meal including pan fried wild seabass and roast rump of lamb. They were also treated to live music and each guest received a copy of Marco’s latest cookbook, Marco Made Easy.
Executive head chef, Matt Castelli and restaurant and bar manager, George Liddle worked alongside Marco to ensure guests were not left disappointed. The Michelin-starred chef, famed for his no-nonsense approach now hopes the people from across the North East will enjoy his style of dining as he aims to spark a culinary revolution in the city.
Commenting on his new restaurant he said: “I’m delighted with my new restaurant in Newcastle and I believe the Geordies will appreciate my style of dining. I’ve said many times that the future of dining out is affordable glamour. I think it’s important to make the environment glamorous and friendly and I think it’s important to make food affordable.”
The 100-seater restaurant will be a bright new experience for even the most experienced of North East food-lovers, serving locally-sourced produce and delicious cocktails in a relaxed yet vibrant setting.Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the steakhouse offers a range of regionally-inspired daily specials and a private dining area to cater for those extra special occasions.
The £20m upscale Hotel Indigo Newcastle and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse bar and grill opened its doors to the public on Friday 1 June 2012. The 148-bedroom boutique hotel on Fenkle Street also features an exclusive non-residents bar, The Grainger Lounge, providing a regionally-inspired menu.
