Top CIOs and CFOs set for London conference

Chief information officer at HMRC, Phil Pavitt; former UK Cabinet Minister, Michael Portillo; and Ollie Phillips, are among the lineup of speakers for a conference on the challenges faced by CIOs and CFOs.

Optimize 2012 will be held in London in September, and is global summit for senior IT and business professionals, looking at decision making and optimised performance within organisations.

The two most recent additions to the lineup are Phil Pavitt, HMRC chief information officer and Dr Mathias Kirchmer, Global BPM Lead at Accenture.

Pavitt holds one of Europe’s largest CIO roles, with a total annual budget in excess of £1bn, and is tasked with delivering a transformational IT agenda in one of Whitehall’s biggest departments.

He will share his experience in IT innovation and simplification of complex IT systems, drawing on his time at Transport for London (TfL), Centrica, OneTel and telecoms specialist ntl.

Dr Kirchmer has been described by one colleague as “one of the few people in the world who really understands the business value of modelling,” and will talk the Optimise audience through achieving value driven process management.
