North East organisation WIN partners up with NECC
A North East company dedicated to supporting women in business has officially partnered up with the region’s leading business membership organisation.
In a move that will significantly boost the agenda for women in business, Women into the Network (WIN), which supports and promotes women’s enterprise, has joined forces with the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC).
This new agreement means that NECC will now pick up the women’s agenda, which will be represented by founder of events management company She’s Gott It! – and newly-appointed NECC council member – Nickie Gott.
This also means that WIN will no longer continue in its current format by including membership, but will provide women in business with greater opportunities for networking with FOC and pay-as-you-go events.
As part of this, Nickie will chair and receive the support of an NECC Advisory Group, which will head the organisation of new monthly informal networking events for businesswomen, named “Coffee Connections”.
These sessions – strap-lined “Coffee Connections @” – will be held at venues across the North East and will allow businesswomen to connect over a coffee and share their experiences and support.
NECC will promote these events – plus any additional ad hoc networking events that it may be organising – through a designated women’s business page on its website.
Nickie Gott said: “WIN is evolving just like our customers, and therefore myself and the board strongly believe that handing over to NECC is a fantastic step forward for the women’s business agenda in the North East.
“By joining with NECC, we will ensure a much more integrated approach and create a stronger voice for the region’s women in business.”
NECC chief executive, James Ramsbotham, said: “We are really excited to be picking up the mantle from WIN.
“By working with Nickie it is NECC’s aim to pick up the agenda for women entrepreneurs in the region and support them to add to their already very valuable contribution to our business community.
“Ultimately NECC wants to make the North East a success and we feel that working closely with WIN will help us to continue to achieve this aim.
“I look forward to working with Nickie to develop our new advisory group and help women entrepreneurs enjoy even more success in the North East.”
NECC’s new women’s business page will also promote the annual prestigious North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which is also organised each year by She’s Gott It!
Nickie added: “The North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards is a huge event on the North East’s calendar. I would urge women to come forward and nominate themselves or colleagues for these prestigious awards and celebrate the fantastic talent that we have amongst our female business leaders.”
Tickets are now on sale for the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards ceremony. For more information, please visit: [www.necc.co.uk/womeninbusiness](http://www.necc.co.uk/womeninbusiness“ rel=).
