Planning lawyer joins Dickinson Dees

Dickinson Dees has grown its Planning team with the appointment of Katy McPhie.

Katy, who lives in Leeds, is the latest in a number of appointments at the firm’s Leeds office at Whitehall Riverside.

Katy originally studied Environmental Biogeoscience at Leeds University before working for Bradford Metropolitan District Council in the Planning department for six years, where she advised on town and country planning matters and, more specifically, breaches of planning legislation.

She subsequently trained as a lawyer at The Endeavour Partnership in Teesside, where she qualified into the corporate and commercial department, having also taken seats in commercial litigation and commercial property during her training contract. She joins Dickinson Dees as a solicitor.

Katy commented: “I have always heard very positive things about Dickinson Dees and have known a number of people who have trained and worked at the firm. When I heard there was a vacancy in the Planning team at the Leeds office, I was keen to apply and was delighted to be offered the position”.

Recent senior appointments in Leeds include Mark Owen, formerly head of Pinsent Masons in Leeds; Nick Mason, who has joined from the National Trust; Shiv Sibal, a senior associate from Pinsent Masons and David Cunningham, who moved from Eversheds.
