North West summit to hold Government to account

A major summit for politicians, councillors and businesses is set to take place in Manchester in September.

North West 2012 and Beyond, aims to hold the Government to account on rebalancing Britain’s economy and boosting regional economic growth.

The summit, to be held in Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on September 7, will address key policy areas like the region’s manufacturing base, transport infrastructure and other emerging industries.

Regional stakeholders will supply their views on the challenges and opportunities facing the North West economy, throughout the summit, and that information will be used to inform research as part of a broader discussion with Parliament and Government.

SMEs, large companies, trade associations and local authorities will be present, as the conference includes a range of keynote speeches, a business exhibition, panel discussions and a networking lunch.

The conference is free to attend, and organisers Dods Parliamentary services, supported by the Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce, are encouraging businesses to sign up.

Delegates will be asked to take part in the discussions as well as in live interactive polling to help inform and lead the debate.
