Clay pigeon shoot victory for Team Bellway Yorkshire
North East house-builder Bellway Yorkshire has been announced as the winning team at a local manufacturing firm’s fifteenth annual clay pigeon shoot.
Over 50 people – both men and women alike – took part in the shoot, which was organised by Marske-based windows and door manufacturer H Jarvis at the Thimbleby Clay Target Centre.
The event consisted of three separate competitions and was attended by companies from across the entire North East and Yorkshire.
Bellway Yorkshire, based in Wetherby, was announced as the overall winning team – which included Mark Bray, Tom Bray, Chris Clingo and Sarah Thornton – who received the much-coveted Jarvis Shield during an informal buffet held at the Haynes Arms in Thimbleby after the event.
In the men’s individual competition, John Hansen from Bellway North East achieved first place, ahead of Mark Bray who came second and James Watts of LB Plastics, who scooped third.
For the women’s competition, Claire Thurlow of Taylor Wimpey was announced first, ahead of Barbara Parkinson of Yuill Homes and Kate O’Donnel from Gladedale, who came third.
H Jarvis delivers a quality manufacturing service for windows and doors, handling contracts from the initial design through to post-installation checks, which are carried out by the Company’s teams of highly experienced fitters.
The Company organises a clay pigeon shoot each year as a way of thanking its loyal customers for their ongoing support.
The sport is particularly fitting for this purpose as participants require no previous experience – approved coaches from the Thimbleby Clay Target Centre were on hand to help even total beginners to compete. All of the necessary equipment was also provided by the Centre, making the day as convenient and enjoyable as possible.
Dave Glendinning, managing director of H Jarvis, said: “We’re really pleased with the success of our fifteenth annual clay pigeon shoot – everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
“The success is mainly due to the first-class organisation from staff at the Thimbleby Clay Target Centre and also to our customers who I wish to thank for attending and making the day complete.
“This event is a significant date in our company calendar, and our customers are always asking when the next shoot is going to be. We’re all looking forward to next year’s event already.”
Many of H Jarvis’ customers competed at this year’s clay pigeon shoot, including Bellway Yorkshire, Bellway North East, McCarthy & Stone, Persimmon Homes, Miller Homes, Pilkington, Yuill Homes, Taylor Wimpey Homes, Gleeson Homes, Gladedale Homes and LB Plastics.
