Lingfield Point welcomes AMEC to the fold
ONE of Darlington’s biggest employers is on the move and on the up. AMEC is to create a new base at Darlington’s Lingfield Point as its centre of operations in the town.
The company will be based at Meadow, an impressive 50,000 sq ft office space with great amenities, to make AMEC’s 500-plus staff feel right at home.
Lingfield Point offers fantastic facilities including a children’s nursery, top quality catering, lifestyle and fitness courses – and has an ethos of sustainability to help its customers reduce their carbon footprint as well!
The move means engineering services company AMEC has room to grow and expand.
John Orchard, of Lingfield Point, said: “It will be great to welcome AMEC – the fact that such a prestigious company wants to be located here is confirmation of the fact that Lingfield Point is the premier location for business.
“We offer something above average – I always say our offices have ‘soul’ and that’s something I believe AMEC picked up on when considering the move.”
Peter Stalker, Vice President of AMEC’s Conventional Power & Process business said: “I believe that this move will provide a professional working environment to match AMEC’s vision and values. It represents a significant long-term commitment by AMEC in the North East and will ensure we support our customers and markets in order to help deliver Vision 2015 and beyond with a continuous objective to improve performance and quality.”
Estate manager, Eddie Humphries, said: “Lingfield Point offers first rate customer service. Our ‘Lingfield Life’ package includes everything from a bespoke concierge service to unrivalled facilities on-site - and that’s why so many big name businesses want to be based here.”
AMEC will join firms such as the Student Loan Company, NAAFI, Xentrall and the NFU at the site with the move taking place in phases over the next few months.
