Sparkling Success for Emerald Literati Award Winners
Helen Woodruffe-Burton, Professor of Marketing at Northumbria University’s Newcastle Business School and Dr. Liz Vaughan, co-author, have been chosen as a Highly Commended Award Winners at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012.
Their co-authored paper, entitled “The disabled student experience: Does the SERVQUAL scale measure up, published in Quality Assurance in Education, was chosen following a consultation with the journal’s editorial team and was chosen from a high number of outstanding and highly commended papers which the journal had received during the past 12 months.
Nelli Rubante from Emerald Group publishing commented, “This paper was selected as it was one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2011”.
Professor Woodruffe-Burton added, “I am very excited about this award and I’m particularly delighted for Dr Liz Vaughan, my co-author and former PhD student. The article is based on her doctoral research which looked at the way service quality is measured in the context of the disabled student experience in Higher Education in the UK. It’s a great honour to be nominated in recognition of our contribution and we are thrilled to join the ranks of international scholars named in the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012”.
