Success for North East firm’s golf day

We do HR Limited’s first annual charity golf day has been deemed a success by organisers and attendees alike.

Over 50 players, including individuals and teams from businesses across the entire region, attended Darlington-based We do HR’s golf day, which took place at Rockliffe Hall in aid of Butterwick Hospice.

The event, which raised over £2,000 for the Hospice, consisted of a range of golfing contests, with the winners announced during an even more popular two-course dinner at Rockliffe Hall following the competitions.

The award for Best Individual went to Jeff Blackwell, while Rob Wilson was named as Nearest the Pin champion and Jon Alsop was announced the winner of the Longest Drive competition.

Meanwhile, the Best Team award went to “PALI”, which included team members Jon Coupland, Paul Wheeler, Doug McMann and Keith Stephenson, and “i-dea” scooped the Best Runner Up award, which went to team members Alun Bell, Jonathan Mudd, David Bainbridge and Greg Howard-Smith.

The dinner was then followed by an informal networking event and raffle, which included various prizes both golf and non-golf related.

We do HR provides a bespoke service for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to outsource or initiate their Human Resource function.

Managing director Alasdair Ross said: “I’m really happy with the success of our first golf day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was great to know that we were supporting a worthy cause whilst having a good time.

“I love Butterwick’s ethos and provision of end-of life palliative and respite care. We know that every penny makes a difference to the Hospice and we’re glad to have been able to make our own contribution in this way.

“I’d just like to thank everyone involved for their support in attending the golf and dinner, sponsoring holes and donating to the raffle. Many thanks also go to Rockliffe Hall for its fantastic golf and catering teams.”

12 teams are already confirmed for We do HR’s second annual charity golf day, which has been arranged for August 6, 2013.
