Retail sales on the increase
Retails sales volumes in July are estimated to have increased by 2.8% on last year.
Seasonally adjusted sales volumes were estimated to be up by 0.3% on the month, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Over the same period, all sales were revised up to 0.8%. The average spend via the Internet was estimated to be £505.1m in July of this year; meaning the proportion of retail sales, excluding automotive fuel, made via the Internet was 8.5%.
