Twitter tightens rules for third-party developers
Twitter have confirmed they will tighten up the rules on third-party apps, as the company say they want “deliver a consistent Twitter experience.”
In a blog post delivered to developers, Twitter’s director of consumer content, Michael Sippey, introduced “changes to the developer rules of the road.”
The changes will come into effect from March 2013, as Twitter overhauls its Application Programming Interface.
Apps which already have more than 100,000 individual users will be required to seek permission from the company if they wish grow more than 200%.
