Northgate establishes new approach to company recruitment with

Northgate Vehicle Hire, market leaders in flexible vehicle hire and fleet solutions, has teamed up with recruitment solution partners, Resource Bank, to launch a new Northgate Careers website. Launched in May, NorthgateCareers.co.uk has attracted over 12,300 visits, resulting in 418 CV submissions and 16 new appointments.

The new website, which was launched to improve Northgate’s employer brand awareness within the industry has centralised the company’s recruitment process as well as streamlining and speeding up the logging and authorisation of all new job roles. Home to a host of features including a behind the scenes online authorisation portal, which allows all job roles to be logged centrally by Northgate’s 250 plus hiring managers, a job vacancy library and “submit your CV” function, the site also features a series of interesting and helpful collateral to give visitors useful interview hints and tips and in depth information about Northgate.

Lee McLane, Head of HR, commented: “The Northgate Careers website has proved to be an extremely useful tool for our business. It allows us to monitor the interest in our advertised vacancies in a consistent and cost effective way. Here at Northgate, we are always looking for innovative solutions to industry issues, and the launch of our careers website is just one of many new initiatives we are developing that offer our company a new and more effective way of operating.”

Lee continued: “The ultimate aim was to create a website that would accurately communicate the Northgate brand. We didn’t want to sugar coat the reality of working for Northgate, nor did we want to undersell ourselves. We wanted to give an honest insight into the Northgate environment and strike a chord with the right type of candidates, attracting those people with the energy, drive and willingness to roll up their sleeves to help Northgate get where it wants to be. So whether it’s a mechanic looking for a workshop position, a sales person looking to be part of our commercial team or an accounts administrator wanting to work in our Head Office in Darlington, they can find out what it is like to work in that specific type of role.”
