Husband and wife team develops serviced business centre
Newcastle Business Village in Benton has become one of the North East’s leading business centres. Set up by Mark and Helen Reed in 2009, they have created a village environment which has not only created offices and meeting rooms, but space with the ‘people factor’.
One of Newcastle Business Village’s first tenants – John Porrett from Unique Magazines Ltd. explains why being part of the village has helped benefit his business;
“We moved into Newcastle Business Village, Benton in December 2009. After looking at many other business centres the village was the only one which offered office and warehouse space together in a great location, which was ideal for our business. We’ve been able to increase our space in line with our growth, with flexibility from the word go.”
In September 2012 Newcastle Business Village are opening their second business centre at the prestigious Clavering House, Clavering Place - the former Robson Brown building, located on the edge of the Stephenson Quarter, Newcastle.
The Stephenson Quarter is a ten acre site adjacent to Newcastle Central Station. The proposed development will include residential, commercial, restaurant and retail facilities, two hotels, an art gallery and exhibition space.
Mark Reed, Owner of Newcastle Business Village says, “Helen and I believe so much in the power of community we’ve staked our family business on it! Newcastle Business Village, Clavering House will become a pillar in the evolving business community in the Stephenson Quarter which will emerge over the next couple of years. “
Mark continues, “We’re really looking forward to supporting and helping businesses grow and engaging with the local business village in what is already starting to become an exciting bustling area for business and leisure.”
North East businessman Geoff Hodgson says, “It’s been great working with Mark and Helen Reed and Alan Brown on the development of the village. There has already been lots of interest from SME’s across and outside the region. Businesses are moving into spaces long before the ‘official launch’ in September, so it’s now full steam ahead for an exciting new venture.”
Newcastle Business Village, Clavering House will be a fully serviced business centre, providing permanent office space and meeting rooms for up to 50 people.
Newcastle Business Village will also be opening the ‘Office Club’, which includes the only hosted dedicated shared workspace in Newcastle for hot-desking and co-working. The Office Club also boasts an affordable 12 person meeting room for small business users, a private office for hire by the hour, and a coffee/lounge area for Office Club users.
The official launch of Newcastle Business Village, Clavering House is w/c 17th September with FREE meeting room hire on offer to those who wish to book meetings, training and seminars. The ‘free meeting room event space hire’ will be available w/c 17th September and w/c 24th September. The evening event will include powerful regional speakers focussing on the essence of community and why forming, or being part of a community is so important to them, their organisations and peoples’ lives. The launch evening will also be supporting a local community charity, The People’s Kitchen.
