Sunderland gain 81 jobs at Vantec Europe
Logistics provider Vantec Europe have announced the creation of over 80 jobs at its Sunderland base, after a £22.5m investment in the 421, 000 sq ft Turbine Business Park on Wearside.
The announcement comes after the warehousing outfit launched 230 jobs in April in connection with contracts the company won with Nissan.
Takao Suzuki, Chief Executive of Vantec’s parent company, Hitachi Transport System, unveiled the job creation on Wednesday morning during a visit to the region from Chancellor George Osborne.
Vantec Europe has an employee base of over 800 people in the North East, and was granted £2.7m from the Regional Growth Fund. The firm has also outlined plans to create 311 jobs in the region by 2015.
The company operate out of UK bases in Sunderland, Manchester and London, as well as having locations in Asia, Europe, and North and Central America.
