Employers invited to work and learn event
Local businesses are invited to come along to an event to help hundreds of young local jobless people find work. North Tyneside Council is teaming up with JobCentre Plus with the Work and Learn Fair taking place on Thursday 13 September in the newly-refurbished ballroom at Wallsend Memorial Hall (NE28 6RN) from 11am to 3pm.
September is always a key transition point for starting in learning and a time when employers look to recruit staff. To this end, the event hopes to attract employers and learning providers who have vacancies on offer. The event is targeted at unemployed young people aged 16-24. Lots of extra help will be available. Advisers from North Tyneside Council’s Connexions Service will be on hand to offer information, advice and guidance. There will also be help with CVs.
This is a major initiative on behalf of two partner organisations who have a key role in reducing the number of young unemployed and those young people not in education, training or employment. The aim is to have a really good range of employers and learning providers.
The event is free of charge to exhibitors. Exhibitor spaces are available on a first-come first-served basis. If you’d like to attend please contact Connexions on 643 6965 or email connexions.NT@northtyneside.gov.uk
