CSL sofa firm delivers 20% sales jump
Sofa company CSL have announced 20% sales increases in August, while the firm prepared to take on 100 new employees.
The Warrington-based retailer experienced a surge in order intakes and a huge number of customers visiting stores over the August bank holiday.
Online figures also rose and CSL enjoyed benefits from additional stores in Croydon, Brent Cross in London, Thurrock in Essex and Hull, which have opened recently.
CSL managing director Jason Tyldesley said: “Our strategy has been to broaden our customer base by offering quality design-led products for every type of person, at every price point.
Mr Tyldesley indicated the store wants to move away from ‘stereotypical sofa salespeople’ and employees motivated by commission, to instead employ people who are enthusiastic about interiors and design.
The retailer recently appointed ex-Selfridges Alyson Fadil to join CSL as the new head of human resources, who will be responsible for recruiting 100 new staff.
Mr Tyldesley added: “Our biggest challenge for the second half of this year is recruiting the retail talent needed to keep pace with our growth rate.”
