Anniversary marks 100 millionth milestone
Celebrating its second anniversary since becoming an independent manufacturer, north east based SONE Products Ltd (SONE), has also reached a significant manufacturing milestone as its 100 millionth product rolls off the production line.
As a supplier of innovative solutions in plastics for technically demanding markets, SONE manufactures products for use in the cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, personal care, healthcare and diagnostics sectors.
Examples of the type of products manufactured by SONE are mascaras for the cosmetics industry. During manufacturing using both plastic injection and extrusion blow moulding processes, SONE will produce the main body and lid, assemble the product by inserting a brush into the lid and complete the process by applying the final decoration and branding ready for distribution to a global market.
One of the machines that is used for assembling these mascaras produces 2,000 units every hour, the equivalent of one mascara of this type being sold somewhere in the world every 1.3 seconds.
Speaking about this achievement SONE’s manufacturing manager, David Clemes, said:
’’Our highly skilled, flexible workforce and responsive operational procedures mean that we are able to react quickly to meet the needs of our UK and overseas customers, often working to short turnaround times.
“I am delighted that we have reached a significant milestone quite early on in the company’s evolution as an independent manufacturer and look forward to even greater achievements in the years to come.”
In addition to its manufacturing capabilities, earlier this year the company further enhanced its offering with the launch of a bespoke in-house design service.
