J & B Recycling appoints Production Manager

Waste management firm J & B Recycling has recruited a Production Manager as it looks to expand its operations.

Mick Proud has joined the Teesside company after more than 20 years working to increase efficiency across several industry sectors.

The 46-year-old has been given a specific role to identify ways in which J & B Recycling can improve its procedures and maximise returns from waste materials.

He said: “J & B wants to look at increasing efficiencies across all of its operations and have brought me in to see where we can make things more productive.

“It’s a job that really excites me because this is clearly a business that wants to progress and develop into new service areas, not just in the recycling of general waste but looking at other waste streams and how additional revenue can be gained from that.”

Mr Proud has joined J & B Recycling after working in similar roles at Expamet Building Products and Peart Fencing. He has qualifications in mechanical engineering and management studies, as well as using efficient production methods.

He will be based at J & B Recycling’s Baltic Street operation in Hartlepool, which is due to be expanded to increase its recycling of industrial waste_._

Vikki Jackson-Smith, Managing Director of J & B Recycling, said: “Mick brings a wealth of experience to the role and his knowledge of production management transfers very well into this sector.

“He will be working across the business to make sure everything we do is more efficient, from staff shifts and machinery, to the best use of space, so that we have a better flow of waste in and out of our sites.”
