Morgan Sindall completes £4.6m student accommodation project
Construction firm Morgan Sindall has completed a £4.6m project to renovate two student accommodation blocks in Norfolk.
The National Construction College (NCC) appointed Morgan Sindall to refurbish its East campus accommodation blocks, which currently house 78 students.
NCC also contracted the company to build an energy centre with a sustainable biomass boiler that will supply power to the revitalised buildings.
NCC’s director Andy Walder said they hope to provide modern facilities to students to enhance their learning experience at the college.
He said “We take the welfare and well-being of our students extremely seriously. Our two new accommodation blocks will enable us to deliver excellence in construction training in a safe, comfortable and attractive environment.”
Morgan Sindall has enjoyed a series of student accommodation contracts so far this year, and has provided over 10,000 beds since 2009.
Gavin Napper, area director for Morgan Sindall, commented on the deal’s completion: “The new campus now provides students with first-class facilities to match the superb training which they will receive.
“Many of our team undertook their initial construction training at the National Construction College and we are pleased to be part of the project team updating the campus.”
Recent projects from Morgan Sindall include the £15m development of the Royal Vets College in Potters Bar, and a two phase programme with the University of Reading worth £78m.
