The Who

As the managing director of Own My IP I wanted to take some time out to introduce the company and the service we offer and talk about the subject of Copyright. Own My IP received investment from Ground Six, a company who invest in early stage technology based business ideas. Through the support of their development team and business strategist Own My IP is now ready to launch.

The concept for Own My IP originally came form the experiences of guy who founded and ran a Creative Agency for over a decade. The idea was based on a need to build solution that would manage and track the transfer of copyright.

The What

Own My IP is an online service to help buyers and creators of copyrighted works to assign the rights of that copyrighted work securely. Own My IP allows individuals and businesses who pay for creative work to have the copyright assigned to them. Such work includes web design, music, logos, written copy, literature, illustration, product design, photos, etc, anything in which a copyright subsists.

The How

It works by facilitating an email exchange containing an agreement. Following acceptance by both parties, the agreement is stored within the system to help protect against disputes over copyright assignment.
