Aspire On Track to Treble Turnover

North East managed services company Aspire Technology Solutions is on target to more than treble its £3m business within the next three years.

Half year figures suggest that Gateshead-based Aspire is currently ahead of target and therefore on track to reach its predicted £10m turnover by 2015 with a longer term view of hitting £20m by 2019.

As well as significant financial growth, the six year old company has increased its workforce by over 50 per cent in the last 12 months and expects to recruit a further five members of staff by this time next year. Four new faces have joined the Aspire team in the last few weeks, taking total head count to 34.

Paul Johnson, 39 from Ponteland, Mark Potter, 26 from Hebburn, Patrick Horne, 37 from Blaydon upon Tyne and Ryan Dodds, 19 from Sunderland have all been appointed by Aspire in a bid to further boost both sales and technical resources.

Paul Johnson spent 11 years working for Virgin Media Business, during which he worked in partnership with Aspire. Of his recent appointment with the company, he said: “I looked after Aspire for a number of years in my previous role and I am excited about the opportunity to join the team at these times of innovation within the business.”

Meanwhile, Mark Potter has taken up the role of Project Coordinator for Aspire having previously been employed by Hexham-based market research company, Panelbase while Patrick Horne has been appointed as Technical Consultant after working for HP as an Active Directory/Server Engineer.

Ryan Dodds is the most recent addition to the rapidly-expanding team and has spent the last three years working for RM Education Plc before becoming a Service Desk Analyst for Aspire. Of the new role, he said: “I’m very excited to be working for a company as reputable as Aspire. The business provides the best fit for the type of career I wish to pursue and I’m looking forward to all the exciting opportunities that I will be presented with.”

In recent months, Aspire has also unveiled plans to invest £1m in the construction of its own purpose built data centre facility located on the same site as its existing headquarters at Heworth Hall. Work on the 3,500 sq. ft facility is expected to start next year.

Of Aspire’s ongoing growth plans, Nigel Begg, said: “We have spent a number of years planning and preparing for significant expansion as a business and we are now realising those plans. We have won some prestigious contracts in recent months which proves we are heading in the right direction and our data centre will be the next piece of the jigsaw.”
