Thames Valley LEP back Heathrow expansion
Members of the Thames Valley Berkshire LEP have shown their support for expansion of Heathrow.
The majority of the LEP’s stakeholders deem Heathrow Expansion to be “the right development” to ensure that business in the Thames Valley region, and the UK, continue to prosper. The LEP has suggested that a lack of action on Heathrow will jeopardise economic growth, and has said UK transport infrastructure needs to be “world class”.
75% of businesses in the region state proximity to Heathrow as a primary reason for their choice of location. The LEP point out the advances of Germany with its Frankfurt expansion, and say the UK needs to keep pace so as to compete on flights to China.
