Not Just a Walk in the Park!

A Sunderland man’s love of dogs and the great outdoors has enabled him to take the brave step into self employment by offering a unique service to dog owners.

Pack Leader UK is a dog adventure, running and walking company that offers pet owners a much wider range of services than a typical dog walker. Dominic Hodgson, owner of Pack Leader UK and two dogs of his own, said: “Dogs, like humans, need to be mentally stimulated and physically exercised which can be difficult to do if they are being taken to the same places for the same walks all of the time. This is why I have set up Pack Leader.” Pack Leader UK offers, amongst other things, dog walking, running, pet sitting and pet taxi services. They also offer Dog Adventures where dogs are taken to different rural settings and exercised while exploring new, stimulating environments. “The Dog Adventures offer the dogs a great deal of fun while being physically active and they love it!” The idea, already popular in the US, has been met with huge enthusiasm from pet owners who want a little more for their dogs. “Pet owners often feel guilty about having to leave their dogs, or not being able to give them the variety of activity they would like to if they had more time – Pack Leader can fill that gap.”

Adam Campbell, a Pack Leader customer and businessman said: “As a busy self employed plumber, I was finding it difficult to get home during the day to see to my dogs. Now that I’m working with Dominic, the pressure is off and I can concentrate on my business knowing that my dogs are in good hands.”
