Fit Training launches Training Academy at Eldon Leisure
North east fitness training provider, Fit Training, has agreed a deal to base its Tyne and Wear training hub at Eldon Leisure, based in the heart of Eldon Square in Newcastle.
Fit Training will run its training academy at Impulse Fitness, Newcastle City Council’s state of the art health and fitness club, where it will have an office and interactive training room from October 2012.
More than half of Fit Training’s tutors will be based at Impulse Fitness at Eldon Leisure, which has recently been refurbished to offer a wider range of activities to its members. Facilities include an indoor cycling studio, state of the art fitness suites, 5-a-side and squash courts, weightlifting rooms, climbing wall and bowling green.
The fitness industry is a fast changing and growing sector, with specific needs when it comes to expert training staff. With Fit Training now being based at Eldon Leisure, this will provide the ideal opportunity for its apprentices to develop closer relationships and improve prospects of gaining future employment.
Managing Director of Fit Training, Janet Reveley, who set up the company in 2005, commented: “Being based at Eldon Leisure will ensure both our tutors and apprentices have access to some of the best training facilities in the north east. Our aim is to develop a health and fitness training hub that will not only attract local apprentices, but also those who are prepared to travel from further afield to attain qualifications in specialist subjects such as Pilates, GP Referral and Indoor Cycling. The lifestyle location and convenient transport links will also appeal to more potential trainees.
“Other future plans include building an interactive conference and training facility for face to face classes and also virtual learning for our online students. Our office is up and running and every member of our team has already benefited from the efficiently run, yet relaxed and friendly, working environment.”
Ann Wood, Facilities Manager at Eldon Leisure commented: “With 2,000 members at Eldon Leisure and a further 5,000 city wide, our aim is provide the best fitness facilities and service in the north east. Having Fit Training based here will ensure we not only keep up to date with the latest fitness training needs but also have access to young people who really want a long term successful career in the fitness industry.”
