Wind turbine provider triples profits

A wind turbine specialist based in North Yorkshire has more than tripled its turnover and experienced record sales this year.

ICE Renewables put its financial success down to strewd customers that research before purchasing. The company also said its high standards and service were tantamount to its success.

The business, which runs from the Crabtree Hall Business Centre in Northallerton, provides medium sized wind turbines and has around 35 years experience in the renewable energy industry.

Changes to Feed in Tariff that are due to come in by 2014 have encouraged the company to push sales to beat the deadline and benefit from reduced energy costs.

Julian Martin is the chief of ICE and the Chair of Renewable UK’s Small and Medium Wind Strategy Group.

He commented: “ICE Renewables is growing strongly, especially in the medium scale wind turbine sector, with demand for our products coming from farmers and the rural community, land agents and landowners as well as developers and the industrial sector.

“We are also building our presence in the commercial market and retail sectors and are expanding our sales territory to include wider geographical areas.

“There’s quite a lead time on the design and build of wind turbines,so customers need to act now to beat the April 2014 FiT deadline.

“For those thinking about installing a turbine, we’d encourage them to get advice now and take advantage of tariffs before they’re reduced.”
