Ammar Mirza, founder of ABC speaks to Bdaily
Bdaily spoke to Ammar Mirza, founder of Asian Business Connexions, about the forthcoming event that will be ABC’s first ever exhibition.
He tolds us about his hopes for the event.Ammar, tell us about what the ABC Expo is all about and what visitors can expect.
“What we’ve tried to do with our first ever exhibition hosted by ABC is to made it hollistic, rather than just about business. e have community organisations and we want to provide something for everyone. The tagline is “In the Community, For the Community”, which is exactly what we hope to provide. Plus it’s half term, so we’re encouraging families to come along.”
What are you aiming to achieve with the event and what prompted you to set it up?
“A big problem I have come across is some people are perhaps unaware of how important businesses are to the community. Even the corner shop is vital to the community, not just as a service, and people need to appreciate this. Our aspiration is to highlight what ABC can offer, and what our partners, such as Your Homes and Newcastle City Council can offer through advice and a proactive approach.”
What will be on offer at the event?
“There will be workshops on how to start up in business, how to tender a business, and a seminar on marketing and branding. We have a lot of prominent people attended and speaking including a women’s only panel, an highly experienced business people coming to share their experience. There will also be interactive activities for the family like climbing walls, pony treks, maths challenges and dance mats.”
The ABC Expo will run on the Thursday 1st November, 9am to 4pm at Excelsior Academy, Denton Road, Newcastle upon Tyne (5 minutes from A1/A69 Junction).
