Michael O'Connor Appoints Stockton Store Manager
Michael O’Connor Furniture has appointed a retail industry expert with more than 30 years’ experience as its Stockton branch manager.
Jeff Hunter, who has worked for a number of furniture specialists during the last three decades, has been recruited to oversee the company’s outlet at Lustrum Retail Park, Portrack Lane, Stockton.
He has forged a solid reputation in the sector, among both peers and customers, having worked for Dickens, Sofa Italia and Barker and Stonehouse.
Chris O’Connor, chairman of Michael O’Connor Furniture Group, said: “Jeff Hunter has an exceptional understanding of the sector and the needs of customers.
“His excellent standing within the high end furniture retail market makes him the ideal person for this post.
“Jeff’s impressive experience will be invaluable as Michael O’Connor drives ambitious growth and service delivery plans forward.”
Jeff, a 48-year-old father of three, who lives in Redcar, said: “Michael O’Connor is an established brand with its finger on the home furnishing pulse.
“Its reputation for top quality furniture, expertise and high levels of customer service is what attracted me to the company.
“This is an exciting time to be joining the business as it presses ahead with its plans for growth and I am looking forward to contributing to its continued success.”
Mr Hunter’s first step on the career ladder was as a junior salesperson. He then rose through the ranks taking in managerial roles in administration and warehousing.
His progression continued with him being promoted to a departmental manager, an assistant store manager and being in charge of a group of several furniture store branches with an independent chain.
Outside of work, Mr Hunter’s passion is Middlesbrough Football Club as well as walking.
