IiP for Social Care at Pear Tree Projects
“If you believe in making people feel valued and important; making people feel challenged and fulfilled; making people feel that their views and opinions really matter to your organisation – work with Investors in People. It will help your organisation to continuously improve and get to where it wants to be“ says Pear Tree Projects, providers of highly specialised, residential care and education to young people who are survivors of abuse.
Investors in People Gold accredited and also an Investors in People Champion, Pear Tree Projects first started working with the framework in 2002 as having the right team members with the right attitude was of paramount importance to them in delivering a caring, supportive and quality service to the young people they look after. Working with Investors in People supported and endorsed this – recognising their commitment to the continued development of everyone at all levels of the organisation.
“For us, learning and development has always played an important part in the development of individuals and therefore the company as a whole. We felt that Investors in People was a natural choice as we already embraced the ethos and were looking to continuously improve upon it.“
Similarly, the organisation always had strong communication and teamwork – but working with the Investors in People framework encouraged them to ensure this was maintained and developed.
The success and reward of this work has been a stable and growing organisation with very low staff turnover.
“Everyone in the organisation is proud of our Investors in People accreditation – the whole journey has been fulfilling but especially the achievement of Gold status as it acknowledges our strength as a team“.
As a result Pear Tree Projects is an acknowledged provider of high quality service, which has led to strong placement levels. This has subsequently enabled them to expand their property portfolio and recruit new colleagues.
“[Investors in People] endorses the commitment of investing in the workforce; it involves everyone and promotes teamwork, ownership and pride.“
