Rockliffe Hall director secures role as industry leader

Rockliffe Hall’s award winning spa director, Liz Holmes, has become one of the UK’s leading experts in her sector securing key roles at major European events.

Liz was appointed as spa director in September 2009 when Rockliffe Hall’s 50,000 square feet spa launched. Since then, the spa has become one of the best in the UK with Liz being named as the Spa Professional of the Year in 2011* and has this year also been invited to speak at prestigious spa and wellbeing events.

In October, Liz was a key speaker at the Annual Hotel Conference at the Hilton in Manchester alongside footballer Gary Neville, Jeremy Hunt MP and James Beresford, Chief Executive of VisitEngland.

In addition, Liz was also a keynote speaker at Professional Beauty North, held in Manchester bringing together hundreds of spa and beauty professionals to discuss industry developments and share ideas and new treatments.

At both events, Liz spoke about the importance of integrating health and wellness into the spa industry which has traditionally focussed on beauty and relaxation therapies.

Liz is also a judge for this year’s Catey Awards later this month (November), the hotel and catering industry’s leading annual awards ceremony, and recently spoke at SIBEC Europe, a major conference for hundreds of members of the health, fitness and leisure market held in Budapest.

Liz, who has worked in the health, beauty and wellbeing sectors for over 20 years and is also a qualified Pilates rehabilitation practitioner, is a leader in her field and has introduced a number of new wellness therapies to the spa at Rockliffe Hall including yoga, meditation and relaxation days and Nordic walking courses for people of all fitness levels.
