SES Shows Continued Resilience

SES, one of the UK’s leading infrastructure and building services contractors, has announced a series of contract wins on major projects across the UK and Scotland.

Upheld as an industry leader for its use of BIM technology as well as its impressive modularisation capabilities, SES is noted for its innovative infrastructure services and building services projects.

Locally, SES has secured further work at the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec), Blyth on the construction of one of the world’s largest wind turbine drive train test facilities, enabling the testing of turbine nacelles up to 15MW capacity.

This work follows on the back of the successful delivery of the 3MW input capacity Drive Train Test Facility earlier this year, the first of the three structures being constructed at Narec as part of an £80+ million investment in world-class facilities for the testing of offshore renewable technologies.

Further to this SES is also involved in the delivery of student accommodation for Northumbria University at Trinity Square, Gateshead.

This latest raft of contract wins, which have a combined build value in excess of £100million are said to be worth in the region of £30 million for SES and reflect a steady increase in orders from clients in the aviation, education, energy and healthcare sectors.

North of the border, the company is working on a major project for Total in the Laggan and Tormore oil and gas fields north west of the Shetland Islands.

In aviation, SES is working to improve building services at Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal. In education, one of the contracts secured is on an impressive new student centre for the London School of Economics.

These projects provide a flavour of the work that SES is undertaking with many other projects on site at various stages of construction.

With a network of seven offices across the country and its unique offsite prefabrication and modularisation facility PRISM (Prefabricated Integrated Services Modules), throughout the recession SES has continued to demonstrate steady sustainable growth built on an ethos of high service delivery, the innovative use of technology and an efficient use of design lead off-site engineering.

According to SES’s regional director, Steve Joyce, this success also stems from a complete understanding of client requirements. He said;
