Local Charity Staying Put Achieves IiP Gold

Staying Put, a domestic abuse charity, has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) Gold accreditation.

Established in 2001, Staying Put works to enable and empower women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse to safely remain in their own home and community. This is done through increased safety options and information choices provided by the team at a time of crisis.

Investors in People Gold represents world class best practice and shows Staying Put as a truly cutting-edge organisation operating at the very highest levels of people management practice. Organisations that have achieved Gold are actively using the Investors in People framework to drive them forward.

Yasmin Khan, Director of Staying Put said:

“We are delighted to receive Investors in People Gold. This is a fantastic result and our Investors in People Specialist was most complimentary in their feedback, noting that ‘Staying Put is a high performance team partly because it is astute and able to recognise the talent of its people at a very early stage’.

“It is an achievement for the whole organisation and the quality and personal commitment of our staff to continuous improvement both for Staying Put and for themselves is truly outstanding”.

Staying Put Chair, Laura Chapman said:

“We are extremely proud to accept this accreditation but fully recognise that it is now our responsibility to ensure we maintain the standard for the future, both for our service users and the staff team”.

Alongside their accreditation success, the charity is also putting on their running shoes to raise funds for their newly established service-user group. Staff and supporters of the charity are taking part in the Bradford Run on 2nd December and will be running either 5km or 10km to raise money for current and previous users of the service to have dedicated ‘me time.’

The service user group is run by the charity on a monthly basis to give women a chance to have some quality time - taking part in activities to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem such as therapeutic arts and crafts activities. A crèche service is also provided to enable participation of all women.
