Flower power makes it three-in-a-row for Rainton Bridge
Rainton Bridge Business Park, owned, developed and managed by international property group Goodman, is celebrating a hat-trick after landing the top prize at the Sunderland in Bloom Civic Awards for the third year in a row.
The Houghton-Le-Spring business park was jointly awarded the accolade with Doxford Business Park in the ‘Best Commercial and Industrial Effort’ category. Richard Potter, Property Services Director for Goodman, said he was pleased Goodman’s commitment to creating sustainable environments was being recognised:
“There are now more than 2,700 people working at Rainton Bridge Business Park and we take great pride in our the high standard of our grounds which help make the business park a welcoming place to work.
“To have won this award three years in a row is proof of our commitment to providing outstanding landscape office environments. In the past our network of greenways and landscaped open spaces has won the Gateshead MBC Trophy for Best Business Park at the Northumbria in Bloom awards as well as the Gold Award.
“This latest award recognises the importance we place on environmental management and we would like to thank Sunderland in Bloom for their continued recognition.”
Rainton Bridge Business Park is home to a wide-range of businesses including RWE npower, UK Independent Medical Services and SaleCycle. Goodman is also responding to local demand by making smaller units available to companies looking to expand. This approach has been very successful with recent occupiers including Bowmer & Kirkland and SIG Combibloc.
Rainton Bridge Business Park is located on the A690 between Sunderland and Durham, and is home to more than 2,700 staff. The site has more than 400,000 square feet of commercial property space, developed across seven buildings, with a remaining 20 acres of land still available for development.
The Best Commercial and Industrial Effort category at the Sunderland in Bloom Civic Awards is open to all businesses, including factories, industrial estates, garages, car show rooms, hotels and retailers.
