New board members to steer Northumberland tourism
Northumberland Tourist Board has gained new members from across industry, to form a partnership that will champion the region.
The new appointments include Kari Owers, chief executive of PR agency OPR; Sarah Green, director of the CBI North East; Ben Quigley, chief executive of marketing agency, Different; Stuart Birkett, regional managing director for Johnston Press; and Peter McIntyre, of Northumberland’s economic development agency Arch.
Northumberland Tourism Board Chair Kate Priestley said: “We are delighted to welcome Kari, Sarah, Ben, Stuart and Peter to the Northumberland Tourism Board. This is a unique opportunity for them to make a real difference.
“We are extremely ambitious for Northumberland, and believe that we have appointed great people who will ensure the partnership can drive substantial increases in visitor spend and economic growth.
“Northumberland Tourism is poised to move forward with renewed purpose, funding, and income with a clear mission to grow the value of Northumberland’s visitor economy. It’s a great time to join the partnership.”
The new board members will bring experience from high-profile communications roles; newspaper publishing; enterprise growth and marketing.
