Point Engineering announces £1.2m expansion
Point Engineering, a North Hull-based group, has confirmed it will invest £1.2 to bring two of its Gateway companies’ production sites together, which will be joined by another satellite office belonging to the firm.
The group oversees Point Engineering, Gateway Chassis and Gateway Fabrications, all of which operate in the engineering industry.
The company will amalgamate its different units under one roof over the Christmas period, while renovation works have already started to ready the new premises for the move.
Staff will be relocated to the 40,000 sq ft building on a 2.8 acre site on the Sutton Fields Industrial Estate in Hull. Welding, fabrication and assembly processes will take place at the new base, while design firm Gateway fabrications will offer their services from the same site.
The expansion project, funded by Finance Yorkshire and HSBC, will add to the growth Point Engineering has achieved since 2009 when the Gateway firms were moved to a new site, which they subsequently outgrew in 2010.
Further growth in 2011 led to the premises move announced last week, from which the company will continue to supply the Yorkshire and Humber region with its services and products.
