Brandauer secures funding from Barclays
Birmingham-based precision component manufacturer Brandauer has secured asset finance funding from Barclays to purchase new machinery.
Brandauer, who is this year celebrating their 150th year in business, has invested £750,000 to be the world’s first to install two cutting-edge presses, the Bruderer BSTA 510-123B2 and BSTA 280-75B2. Offering the company the latest B2 control technology and high-speed precision servo feeds, the investment will enable the manufacturer to accommodate larger modular tools with more complex additional operations.
The substantial investment is expected to add an additional £2m worth of new sales to the firm’s current £9m turnover and increases Brandauer’s ability to offer tool transfer services to clients from sectors such as aerospace, automotive, electronics and renewables.
Managing Director at Brandauer, David Spears, said: “At £750,000, this is the single largest investment we have ever made and gives us greater speed, greater quality and greater efficiency to target new sectors.”
Installing the new presses has already begun to pay dividends for Brandauer, part of the Midlands Assembly Network, with new contracts including complex parts for both automotive electronics and an alternative power generation system recently secured.
David Spears added:
“The 150th anniversary is a major milestone for the business and we’ve already marked it with a Royal visit, the launch of a new book and successful appearances at MACH, IFSEC and Subcon.”
Joe Kavanagh, Relationship Director at Barclays, said: “Brandauer is a longstanding client of ours with a relationship spanning over 100 years.Their latest investment in technology will ensure the business continues to grow and maintains its competitive edge. This transaction demonstrates Barclays appetite to support the manufacturing industry.”
Brandauer was recently visited by Matt Hammerstein, Barclays Head of Corporate Relations, who presented the company with a silver salve to mark their 150th year anniversary. Commenting on the visit, Matt Hammerstein, who holds a degree in Engineering, said: “The best part of my job is spending time with our customers and clients. My time at Brandauer was no exception – I was very impressed with their history and the quality of their operations. I saw immediately why they’ve had 150 years of success and wish them well for the next 150 years!
