Saks Darlington invests in town salon

Saks Hair in Darlington has finished a substantial refurbishment project and expanded its workforce, only nine months after relocating.

The Saks’ flagship salon in Darlington moved to Blackwellgate next to design and installation specialists, Durtona Kitchens, and was secured by Ruth Roddam who has been involved in five Saks franchises over a period of nearly 20 years. Ruth has also taken on an apprentice.

Having recently sold her franchise in Hexham, Ruth has dedicated her time to focus on Darlington. Her aim, now that she is running the salon, is to restore the luxury element of customers’ visits.

Ruth has devised a chic and stylish interior for the salon and invested in the highest quality equipment. The investment included the installation of three massage chairs which customers can take advantage of while having their hair washed.

The new-look salon also has a unique approach to its customer service technique. Ruth has a strict policy that there should be no bland conversations about holidays or the weather and stylists should be able to hold an informed and interesting conversation with clients on a range of topics.

Saks is renowned for superb colour expertise, using the latest L’Oreal Professional products and taking into account skin tone and lifestyle.

Ruth Roddam, owner of Saks in Darlington said: “I am thrilled with the final look of the salon. We’ve created a stylish and professional environment which reflects the outlook of the business. I want our clients to feel special and to leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
