Yorkshire Bank hosts Growing Business event
Leaders of expanding West Midlands businesses shared best practice at a successful breakfast seminar held in Birmingham by Yorkshire Bank.
The event was held at Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Temple Row in partnership with Vistage International UK, the chief executive mentoring organisation.
The seminar was part of Yorkshire Bank’s pledge to help businesses become stronger through its ‘Growing Business’ initiative which provides new and additional support for businesses looking to start-up, expand or switch their banking arranagements.
Guest speaker Alan Cook, a Midlands-based group chairman at Vistage, addressed business owners and chief executives from across the region.
He said: “At Vistage we work with CEOs and owner managers in local peer groups to provide coaching, mentoring and share experiences of good practice and the event provided us with a good opportunity to explore the core tasks facing CEOs today.
“I chair three groups in the West Midlands made up of CEOs from non-competing businesses and amid all the doom and gloom in the news, many of the organisations I’m working with have enjoyed record results recently which is hugely positive.”
Heather Griffin, business development manager for Yorkshire Bank, said the seminar provided business leaders with a good opportunity to share success stories and find out about support available from the Bank and Vistage.
Heather said: “Alan is a vastly experienced chief executive and as well as being a Vistage group chairman, he is also a former Vistage member so is well placed to talk first hand about his experience of being part of a group.
“Yorkshire Bank offers a range of initiatives to help UK businesses grow, from the Growing Business package that we have launched to support businesses to start up or expand and schemes aimed at different businesses at different stages in their lifecycle.
“The workshop helped form some good new year resolutions and the feedback from customers who attended was excellent. We look forward to working with Alan and Vistage again in the future.”
