Yorkshire healthcare developers to benefit from partnership

Health industry experts Medipex have joined with Sheffield University’s National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) to help Yorkshire SMEs developing healthcare products.

NAMTEC’s run the ERDF-funded Advanced Manufacturing Support programme which provides SMEs access to services to accelerate their route to market.

Medipex bring a comprehensive knowledge and experience of the NHS landscape, intellectual property, market intelligence and product development.

The organisation can offer these services to Yorkshire engineering and manufacturing businesses developing products aimed at the healthcare sector.

Chris Herbert, business development manager at Medipex, said: “Since the demise of Yorkshire Forward, this highly valuable support for companies has been sorely lacking and we’re looking forward to working with NAMTEC and a range of companies from across the region to help bring innovative products into the NHS for the benefit of the patient, the company and the regional economy.”

NAMTEC project manager, Helen Arthur, says: “Through access to specialist consultants, like Medipex, who have direct experience, we can work together to build and strengthen regional capability.”

Those interested in the services available through NAMTEC should contact Helen Arthur on helen.arthur@namtec.co.uk; and those interested in Medipex should contact Chris Herbert on chris.herbert@medipex.co.uk.
