Altium open Frankfurt office
Investment bank, Altium, has opened a new office in Frankfurt, Germany, after completing 41 transactions last year worth £4.8bn.
The Manchester-based firm’s new office is its 10th in Europe and will allow the business to expand it’s debt advisory and financial restructuring practice.
Eight of the deals completed last year were carried out by the international company’s Manchester team, and totalled £265m, up 70% on the previous year.
The announcement comes shortly after Altium confirmed exclusive partnerships with U.S. advisory firm Petsky Prunier and Indian investment bank, Allegro, in January 2013.
Phil Adam, group chief executive, commented: “We are really excited about the potential of our new office in Frankfurt.
“The new team there will focus primarily on technology and debt advisory mandates and is an excellent fit with the rest of our business.
“Our exclusive partnerships with Petsky Prunier and Allegro will greatly enhance our reach into North America and India.
“2012 was an extremely strong year for Altium culminating in the £1.3billion take private of Douglas Holdings.
“We saw good deal activity across the group and particularly in technology, consumer and eCommerce and industrials.
“One particularly notable deal for us was advising Swarovski on its investment into Tara Jewels in India.”
The bank has offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Zurich Munich, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Madrid and Dubai.
