Newcastle restaurant takes Asian cuisine on the road

A renowned South East Asian restaurant is launching a sister company to ignite the region’s outdoor catering scene.

Electric East, based in St James’ Boulevard, Newcastle, is hitting the streets with the Electric East Catering Corp, to showcase its Asian cuisine to street food fans throughout the North East.

The new venture will focus on serving fast, fresh, healthy street food, and the team, fatigued in worker ethic uniform, will be setting up camp at a series of events and festivals across the region this year.

Manager Mark Lagun said: “We’ve noticed the growing local appetite for street food, and we know that our dishes suit this informal style perfectly, so we decided that now was the ideal time for Electric East to go mobile. We’re bringing our fabulous Asian flavours to the whole region, to introduce our great quality dishes at affordable prices to those who may not yet have visited the restaurant.”

The company is also available for hire at private soirees such as garden parties, weddings and all manner of corporate events, and can tailor specific menus accordingly.

Mark added: “We pride ourselves on our different, lively, quirky approach to catering, and we come with a ‘never dull’ guarantee, so we’re looking forward to hearing people’s feedback.”
