Leading furniture retailer invests in new showroom

Midlands furniture retailer Lee Longlands has invested in a new dedicated 2,000 sq ft showroom at its flagship store in Birmingham, unveiling a stylish and contemporary range of furniture and decorative accessories from French design house Ligne Roset.

With it’s origins in France, family run Ligne Roset prides itself on creative collaborations with exciting, award winning, talented designers, and is now accepted as a leader in the design world. In recent years Ligne Roset has started working with designers like the Bouroullec brothers, as well as producing Pierre Paulin products. The result saw a portfolio of incredible designs being established, prompting Lee Longlands decision to house the eclectic and stunning collection.

The range at Lee Longland’s Broad Street store features designs such as the classic and iconic Togo sofa, which was designed by Michel Ducaroy in the 1970s. The Toga is said to represent the corner-stone of the collection, and was the first successful all-foam sofa starting the trend for corner seating units which we see today. So recognised was the design impact, its importance is recognised by a place in the New York Museum of Design.

The passion of Ligne Roset’s pool of designers has helped to create some of the best in cutting edge design for furniture. Their eye for detail and innovation is portrayed in the ingenious ‘Confluences’ sofa by Philippe Nigro with pieces which fit together like a puzzle allowing you to create your own shape and form to suit the as well as the new Anda chair by Pierre Paulin with its organic curves and effortless ergonomics.

Lee Longlands managing director, Robert Lee, said: “This particular range manages to compass contemporary-chic, and elegance, and the quality speaks for itself. This is an international designer and manufacturer with stores all over the world and we are proud to be showcasing their collection right here in the heart of the Midlands. Not only is the collection superbly crafted, but it’s also a great value, accesible stylish brand with pieces starting from £1,500.

Comfort is key with this collection, and as with all top class furniture ranges on offer at Lee Longlands, the Ligne Roset provides both style and ultimate indulgence. The craftsmenship of the interior construction of each piece has had as much thought as the outer design and asthetic. Classic or ‘avant garde’ in design, or small and precise to large and luxurious, this collection has it all, and promises to complement any home.

The Ligne Roset showroom is one of several at the flagship store, with four floors dedicated to fashionable furniture and home furnishings including sofas, sofabeds, bedroom furniture and dining tables and chairs.

Lee Longlands also has a dedicated flooring department with all the top brands including Brintons and Crucial Trading as well as stocking global interiors brands including Duresta, Frank Hudson and Natuzzi.
