Wigan Council appoint contractors for £50m building work
Wigan Council has appointed ten North West construction firms to work on a series of school building projects.
The contracts, which will span a four year period, have been valued at approximately £50m in total, with each programme worth between £50,000 to £5m.
After receiving 47 bids from construction firms, Wigan Council selected ten companies from Preston, Warrington, Blackpool, Southampton, Manchester and St Helens to work on school building schemes in the Wigan area.
The selected firms include: Conlon Construction, Cruden Construction Group, F Parkinson, Glenbeigh Construction, Globe Management Services, Harry Fairclough Construction, ISG, J Turner Construction Group, Paragon Construction and Warden Construction.
Wigan Council said the scoring criteria for selection was weighted 60% towards price and 40% toward work quality.
