New Grant Thornton head for Leeds Office
Grant Thornton has announced that the new practice leader for its Leeds office will be Will Oxley who currently leads the Transaction Advisory Services team across the North of England. The move follows the recent announcement that current practice leader Jonathan Riley will take on the role of head of tax for Grant Thornton UK LLP from 1 April 2013.
Will joined Grant Thornton as a partner in 2007 after spending twelve years with leading accountancy firms, principally working in the North of England, but also undertaking secondments to London and Melbourne. He will continue to lead the Northern Transaction Advisory Services team as well as heading the Leeds practice.
Will currently acts for a range of market leading corporate clients spanning the FTSE 100 and entrepreneurial middle market space as well as working with national and local private equity and banking organisations. Recent deals include the MBO of FPE by NorthEdge Capital and MBO of IESA by Gresham along with a number of corporate transactions for clients such as Sage plc and Fenner plc.
Will commented: “Under Jonathan Riley’s strong leadership, the practice has grown by 60 per cent in the region over the last few years. We have a fantastic opportunity to build on these firm foundations and continue to develop the breadth and depth of the team in our Leeds, delivering value added solutions to dynamic businesses throughout the region.
“I will be building on Jonathan’s legacy of making Grant Thornton the obvious and aspirational choice for clients seeking tax and audit advice as well as those with specialist advisory services needs.”
Jonathan Riley said: “As I look forward to taking on a new national role, I am pleased to be handing over the reins to such a capable successor as Will. I am confident that he will play a key role in helping the firm to realise its ambitious plans by providing regional and international businesses with the expert advice they need in order to unlock their own potential for growth.”
