Consultancy company practicing what it preaches
A global consultancy firm which specialises in implementing innovative business improvement techniques has secured an award for practicing what it preaches.
KM&T, which has offices in the UK, Europe, Australia, America, New Zealand, the Middle East and Asia, has been awarded the internationally recognised ISO 9001 for quality management.
The certificate means the award-winning organisation – which was set-up in 2004 – has demonstrated quality management throughout the business and that there is a process in place for continuous improvement both internally and externally.
Steve Boam, chief executive at KM&T whose UK headquarters are at the TechnoCentre in Puma Way, Coventry, said they had applied their own methods to work on the accreditation which was a vindication of their business practices.
“Achieving ISO 9001 is another excellent accolade for the company,” he said. “We worked on our accreditation for several months because this was a process which we took extremely seriously.
“We applied the business methods we use with our clients to ensure our quality management systems were of the highest possible standard.
“The feedback we received from the assessors was extremely encouraging and, in fact, there were no areas in which we needed to improve which we were delighted to read.
“Receiving the standard shows that the quality management systems we have not only help staff at KM&T to run our business more efficiently and put best practices into operation but also improve our skills when giving advice to clients in healthcare, the public sector and manufacturing.
“As the company expands, we recognise that we must be pro-active in ensuring KM&T’s quality does not fall below the high standards we have put in place.
“ISO 9001 should not only help us to maintain our quality service but also provide a platform from which we can continue to build.”
Receiving the ISO comes hot on the heels of KM&T achieving a Gold award in the national Investors in People.
Steve added: “This was the first time we had attempted to secure Investors in People accreditation and we have joined an elite band since there are only six other companies in the West Midlands who have secured the Gold award at their first attempt.
“Our organisation relies heavily on recruiting the right people and giving them the best possible training since their skills determine the success of KM&T.
“It’s another fantastic accolade for the business and I’m delighted for our team who continue to work hard in creating the right kind of environment for staff to achieve their career goals.”
