Grant Thornton strengthens not for profit team

Business adviser Grant Thornton has expanded its not for profit practice in the North with the appointment of Debbie Watson as a senior audit manager.

Based at Grant Thornton’s Leeds office, she will work as part of the northern team, focussing on Yorkshire and the North East. Debbie joins from the firm’s Anglia offices having spent the last five years working as an external audit manager in the not for profit sector.

Debbie has extensive experience of providing audit services and advising housing, education institutions and charities. She has developed specialist knowledge of the housing sector and provides technical support as part of Grant Thornton’s national not for profit team.

“These are challenging times for the not for profit sector and demand for our expertise is continuing to grow. With her strong technical knowledge, Debbie’s appointment will be a real boost to the team,” explains Graham Nunns, head of not for profit sector at Grant Thornton in Yorkshire. “This appointment demonstrates our on going and significant commitment to build on our presence in the not for profit sector across the north of England.”

Debbie adds: “This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and play a part in servicing existing clients as well as engaging with new clients in this niche area.”
