2013 Robert Stephenson Awards line up announced

Thirteen civil engineering projects from Berwick to North Yorkshire will vie for honours at the 2013 Robert Stephenson Awards held by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North East.

Prizes in two categories, for projects valued greater than £4million and those valued at less than £4million, will be awarded at the ICE North East Annual Dinner, a special evening of celebration, on Thursday 18 April 2013 at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Hotel.

Outstanding projects which are considered to be particularly environmentally sustainable, or help to contribute to the preservation of the region’s heritage, or where innovation features strongly, may be given additional or special awards.

Derek Smith, ICE North East awards scheme secretary, said: “The annual dinner is always a great opportunity for the industry to come together and celebrate civil engineering in the North East. We have had an outstanding response from businesses looking to highlight their achievements, and I look forward to celebrating these at the dinner.”
