Behind the business with Bankhouse Construction Ltd

Bankhouse Construction Ltd is a North East-based construction firm, established in 2010 the company has developed an extensive project portfolio and undisputed reputation. Here, Director Michael Mossman takes the Bdaily behind the business.

What key challenges has the company recently faced?

Bankhouse Construction was founded three years ago, at this time the challenge we faced was to establish a reputable and thriving company in a market which had been severely hit.

With the economy being as turbulent as it is many people put development projects or builds on hold. Our challenge has been to effectively persuade potential clients that investing in developing a home or property, designed to their specifications, is both exceptionally rewarding and cost effective.

What is your biggest achievement over the past twelve months?

The company’s biggest achievement is that after only two years in business we won a high value, prestigious contract. This is a testament to our hard work and quality service, a reputation we aim to continue growing.

What is the biggest focus for the coming year?

At Bankhouse Construction we work with a highly skilled and dedicated team of contractors. In the coming year we are looking to employ some of these local tradesmen to take the company further forward and become more self sufficient.

I am exceptionally proud of the reputation Bankhouse Construction has developed for good quality service and first-class results. I hope that our continued dedication to our clients helps grow this reputation.

If you had to choose one top piece of advice for someone just starting out in business, or is currently operating within your industry sector, what would it be?

The main advice I would give somebody in my industry is to know their market inside and out.

Our homes are the place we find solace, as a builder it is important to remember people are trusting you with this as well as their money. It is essential to have confidence in your ability and expertise so that when people are putting their trust in your hands you are able to deliver and live up to expectations.

Can you share with us your view on the current landscape of business, in your region or generally, and where your organisation sits within it?

In the current climate people are more cautious about their expenditure, therefore in recent years the construction industry has taken a great hit.

Here at Bankhouse we place great emphasis on giving clients value for money and ultimately a home that will provide a great return of investment. With this in mind it pleases me to say that despite the economy we are sitting comfortably and are always looking to take on new projects and clients.
