Southport-based IGC acquired by Arrow Business Communications
Inter-Group Communications (IGC) has been acquired by Surrey-based firm Arrow Business Communications for an undisclosed sum.
The North West telephone system provider is based in Southport and provides IP telephony, voice, network and managed services to the public and private sectors.
IGC’s Bristol subsidiary, Budd Communications, will also be handed over to Arrow as part of the deal, which will be the buyer’s fourth acquisition in three years.
Arrow specialises in business telephony solutions, and said the acquisition was made to reinforce the firm’s focus on taking innovative telecoms services to the business market.
The business also hopes to increase its headcount within its technical and engineering teams.
Managing director, Chris Russell, commented: “This acquisition is another great opportunity for Arrow to expand its nationwide customer base and provide further opportunities for growth across all of our product offerings.”
Inter-Group owner, Cliff Barclay, added: “Arrow is a great match with IGC and we are excited to be part of a larger team with access to an expanded business connectivity portfolio.”
The bought company and its subsidiary will be integrated into the Arrow business under the new name of Arrow Business Communications Ltd.
Employees at IGC and Budd will remain in their current premises and continue to serve their existing customer bases.
The deal of IGC was advised by MC Vanguard, the corporate finance unit for North West accountants and business advisors, Mitchell Charlesworth.
Brian McCann, partner at the accountancy firm, said: “We are delighted to have helped secure this deal. It will see the broad skills and experience at IGC used to strengthen the Arrow brand. We wish all parties every success in the future.”
