Expanding Durham workwear company increases workforce
A uniform supplier is expanding their workforce after the business grew by 30% in a year.
Durham based, Workwear Express is on course for a further 30% growth in the coming year after seeing its order book go from strength to strength.
The company, which provide customised uniforms and promotional leisurewear, is now looking for staff to boost their current 55-strong workforce.
Workwear Express currently list Aston Martin, Greggs PLC, 3 Mobile and Tesco as clients and supply workwear to individuals and organisations across the UK and overseas.
New equipment allows for 24 hour production on all types of work such as embroidering and screening on shirts and other garments in a far more efficient way.
An increase in orders has meant that more staff are required to ensure the products meet the company’s high standards.
MD Andrew Ward said: “We have invested in new machinery and I.T. that are making our jobs more efficient and also enables the staff to complete orders quickly, keeping the customer happy
“Our sales teams are doing a great job; in fact we are looking to expand the teams that are already in post.
“We are looking to take on eight new office- based sales staff to handle inbound sales enquiries and provide excellent customer service and twelve more production staff to work in our 24 hour factory.
“All in all, in these times where a lot of firms are looking shed jobs, we are in the fortunate position of not only keeping the 55 staff but looking for more.”
